Why are we doing this?
The race organizers live, ride and run in Estes Park and want to share this wonderful town with our fellow athletes.
This event is a fundraiser for the Estes Park High School Mountain Bike Team with proceeds directly supporting the team. When they aren't racing the Epic they will be supporting you at aid stations and selling their jerseys and kits in the start/finish area.

Who is putting this on?
The race is being organized by a committee of Estes Park residents, veteran race directors, and experienced trail racers.
Phil Bogardus is our race director. He is the Assistant Coach of the Estes Park High School Mountain Bike Team, Team Director of the EVRPD Youth MTB Team, and involved in countless other ways throughout the Estes Park community.
Kevin Benes has been organizing events all over the country for the last eight years. He has a long list of ultra and Ironman finishes. He has been involved in organizing hundreds of MTB, road, runs and triathlons. [email protected]
Josh Cramer is our course expert and Team Director and Head Coach of the Estes Park MTB Team. This guy has raced all over the country and brings his passion of Mountain Biking to Estes Park by training the next generation to bomb the trails.
Kyle Sipes owns The Bikery at the Brewery. He will wrench for you when you do something dumb and you may not have to go all the way to his shop in order to get a tune up.

How tough is this race - really?
This race is tough, but not impossible. It's a lot of climbing and epic descents. 55K has over 5,000 feet of climbing with an equal amount of descending.
